“Notes on Selling One’s Identity” at Virginia Quarterly Review

“Small Time” at The Nervous Breakdown

“The Sensationalism-to-Get-Buzz Formula” at Virginia Quarterly Review

If you want a whole lot of it:

It’s a memoir about my experience of taking self-help advice and about the ideology that underpins self-help. Salon called my book, “Conversational and funny … but also, at times, serious and contemplative.” The Library Journal described it as “amazingly in-depth yet entertaining with its fresh humor.” You can get it at Amazon or request it from your favorite bookstore.
